Difference between 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G :
1G Vs 2G . simply , the '1' stands for first and '2' stands for second. And the 'G' stands for 'GENERATION' .For example, 1g offers 2.4 Kbps data speed, 2G offers 64 Kbps data speed rate and it is based on GSM. 3G offers 144 kbps - 2 Mbps and it is based on WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), 4G offers 100 Mbps - 1Gbps and it is based on LTE technology, whereas 5G offers 100+ Mbps - 20 Gbps and it will be based on multi input output wireless network.

1G ( First Generation ) Network :
The First commercial 1G mobile network in the world was launched by Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Company (NTT) in Tokyo, Japan on 1 December 1979, It was based on analog telecommunication standard.

Within 5 years , The NTT network expanded and to cover whole population of Japan, and it becomes the first nationwide 1G mobile network.
In 1981, Norway and Sweden built their first generation (1G) based mobile network Nordic Mobile Telephone (NMT) standard. This standard spread quickly in Asian and European countries like Russia, Saudi Arabia, Denmark and Finland.
In 1983, The "Ameritech" Chicago based company had launched the 1G (first generation) network in USA. First handy mobile phone was manufactured by Motorola at the same time in USA.
Most of the phone in 1G era were :
- Heavy , initially model weight around 1-3 kg.
- Too much expensive, Only used by executive and Corporate world, not for personals use.
- Poor Sound quality
- Limited coverage
- Weak security supported.
- There no message and internet facility available in 1G phones, only calling support available.
2G (Second Generation) Network :
2G, Second-Generation Cellular Network were based on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication). The 2G cellular Network is commercially launched in Finland by Radiolinja in 1991.

Features of 2G network :
- 2G Network was the first mobile network to offer Data Services and SMS Text Messaging. But their transfer rate are lower than their successors.
- 2G, Cellular phones were used for data along with voice
- Data speeds of up to 64kbps.
- Enable services such as SMS and MMS (Multimedia Message).
- Provide better quality of voice call than 1G network.
3G (3rd Generation) Network :
3G ( Third generation ) third generation network is the wireless telecommunication technology. The 3G standard utilizes Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) UMTS standard for 3G digital mobile networks, using CDMA technology. It used Wide Band Wireless Network that increased clarity in voice calling and improve the speed of internet.

Features of 3G network :
- Increases Band-width and data transfer rate.
- Send/Receive large messages or Emails.
- Provide better quality of voice call .
- Added features of video calling.
- increases internet speed up to 2Mbps
4G ( Fourth Generation ) Network :
4G (fourth generation) is the wireless telecommunication is based on LTE (long Term Evolution) Technology. It was the first LTE Cellular network standard was commercially released by TeliaSonera in 14th December 2009 in the capital of Sweden and Norway and since been deployed throughout most part of the world.

Features of 4G network :
- Support Interactive Multimedia, Voice and Video Calling.
- Provide High Internet Speed at low cost.
- Support High-definition Mobile Tv, Video conferencing and 3D Tv.
- Global and Scalable Mobile network.
5G ( 5th Generation ) Network :
5G is the fifth generation mobile network, It is new global wireless network after 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G network.5G enable a new kind of network that is designed to connect virtually everything including machine, objects and devices.
5G wireless network will deliver higher multi Gbps data speed, more reliability, massive network capacity, higher performance and improve efficiency empower new user experience.

Features of 5G network :
- 5G network will impact on every industry, making safer transportation, remote healthcare, precision agriculture, digitized logistic, etc.
- With high speed, superior reliability and negligible latency, 5G will expand the mobile ecosystem into new era.
- 5G can be significantly faster than 4G, will be deliver up to 20 Gigabits-per-second ( Gbps) peak data rates and 100+ Megabits-per-second (Mbps) average data rate.
